Our History

In April 2012, JFE Bars & Shapes Corporation
was reborn after the four electric arc furnace steelmakers
of the JFE Steel Group were merged.

Specifically, the four electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmakers in the JFE Group,
JFE Bars & Shapes Corporation, Daiwa Steel Corporation, Toyohira Steel Corporation, and Tohoku Steel Corporation, were merged.
JFE Bars & Shapes made a fresh start as one of Japan’s largest EAF steelmakers
while inheriting a long history of steelmaking, which the predecessor companies have continued.


Flow after the merger (2012~)

  1. April 2012

    A new structure was inaugurated through the merger of the EAF businesses of the four companies of the JFE Steel Group (a structure with six works).

  2. April 2014

    The steel bar and wire rod businesses in the JFE Steel Group were merged. JFE Bars & Shapes’ three divisions, the Sales, Technical Service, and Research Divisions, which concern steel bar and wire rod businesses, were transferred to JFE Steel Corporation.

  3. October 2014

    The company acquired trademark registration for its screw rebars. The product names were unified to “Neji bar.”

  4. March 2017

    The Kashima Works acquired a permit for the installation of a general waste-processing facility.

  5. April 2017

    Sendai Works was transferred to JFE Steel (a structure with five works).

  6. April 2018

    Reorganization of JFE Bars & Shapes’ group companies (BS Toyohira Tech Corp., BS East-Japan Tech Corp., BS West-Japan Tech Corp.) An efficient management structure linked to JFE Bars & Shapes’ Works was established.

  7. July 2020

    The Hokkaido Branch was relocated to Nihonseimei Sapporo Kitaguchi Bldg., Kita Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido.
