We contribute to a resource-recycling society through “environment- and human-friendly steel production.”
As an electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaker in the JFE Group, which plays a central part in the Japanese steel industry, our company operates three core businesses, “shapes business,” “reinforcing steel bars business,” and “resource-recycling business,” with a network consisting of five works and four sales offices nationwide.
Recently, taking action for global warming control, which concerns the entire world, has become a common task regardless of the type of business. A steelmaking process using an EAF not only plays the role of maintaining iron resource circulation in Japan, but has also achieved environment-friendly steel production partly thanks to having the nature of generating lower CO2 emissions. It is considered that the role that EAF steelmakers play will become more important in order to contribute to multiple goals toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society in the future. Our company also desires to make a contribution.
Our company’s “shapes business” and “reinforcing steel bars business” meet the needs of our customers in Japan and abroad through the provision of high-quality products. These products are used for various civil engineering and architectural structures, providing a foundation for the construction of public infrastructure facilities and the strengthening of national land, and play a major role in supporting the development of society.
The “resource-recycling business” uses waste such as waste batteries together with scrap metal as a resource at our Mizushima Works and Kashima Works, and such waste is recycled into steel products.
We intend to pursue technological innovation with an insatiable inquisitive mind while addressing harmonization with the global environment, while responding to our customers’ needs, which will be even more sophisticated and/or diversified in the future.
In addition, we will continue to demonstrate our ability in order to support the future society, and lead it to a better future, through environment- and human-friendly steel production.
