2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

We will use personal information solely for the following purposes.

  1. (1) Guidance to and sale of common steel, billets and steel products that our company manufactures and sells, and conclusion and management of contracts
  2. (2) Guidance to and provision, sale and management of products, technologies and know how that are indicated in the purpose of business of our company’s articles of incorporation, other than those indicated in (1) above
  3. (3) Guidance to and provision, and management of services incidental or related to matters indicated in (1) and (2) above
  4. (4) Guidance to products, services, etc. that Group companies, partner companies, etc. handle
  5. (5) Development of new products or services
  6. (6) Response to inquiries, requests, etc.
  7. (7) Performance of tasks associated with (1) to (6) indicated above.

4. Safety Management Measures

In accordance with JFE Group Privacy Statement, our company has taken measures for preventing leakage,
loss or damage of personal information as well as other actions for appropriately managing personal information as follows.

(Establishment of internal rules on handling personal data)
We have established internal rules that set forth handling methods, responsible persons, staff in charge and their tasks for each of acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion, disposal or any other stages.

(Organizational safety management measures)
As responsible Corporation for handling personal data, we have appointed Chief Privacy Officer (officer in charge of General Administration Dept.), the department responsible for personal information (General Administration Dept.) and persons responsible for information management (department heads) to put in place our organizational framework for managing and handling personal data and addressing actual or potential leakage of personal information, etc.
We have put in place our checking system on personal data handling status by creating personal information management ledgers that describe personal data scope and items, purposes for using the data, storage location, responsible personnel, retention period, etc. In addition, we check personal data management and handling status on a company-wide basis by confirming the personal information management ledgers at regular intervals.
We implement internal audits at regular intervals on whether we appropriately handle personal information or comply with applicable laws, internal rules, etc.

We provide appropriate and necessary supervision or education for our employees so that they will appropriately handle personal information.

(Physical safety management measures)
We have taken measures to prevent unauthorized persons from viewing personal data by strict locking management system, etc. in areas where personal data are handled.
We have taken measures to prevent theft or loss, etc. of equipment (terminal), external storage media or documents, etc. that records or states any personal data.
We have taken appropriate measures so that personal information will not be easily revealed when we transport equipment (terminal), external storage media or documents, etc. that records or states personal data, including their movement within plant.
We dispose of or delete equipment (server or terminal) that handles personal data or external storage media or documents, etc. that records or states personal data in a way where the data cannot be restored or not easily be restored.

(Technical safety management measures)
We conduct access control to ensure that, in our information system that handles personal information database, etc., the scope of employees with access to the data and the scope of personal data to be handled are limited to the extent necessary for business.
We use user IDs, passwords or other identification methods to identify and validate accessing persons to our information system that handles personal data.
We have introduced a mechanism that protects our information system that handles personal information against unauthorized access from the outside or unauthorized software.
We have taken measures to prevent leakage, etc. resulting from using our information system.
